Make Your Own Cannabis Tincture
Making an alcoholic cannabis is an easy way to extract THC and cannabinoids from Cannabis. An alcohol is a solution based on alcohol, used to extract organic substances from herbs and other plants. Medicinal alcohols are very useful because they isolate certain compounds better than soaking or boiled herbs in water, drinking as a natural preservative, and tinctures often have a faster effect. Other major routes, such as eating, drinking, or smoking.
Materials Marijuana alcohol
A typical ratio of the winery problem would be 1 gram to 1 ounce of liquid (35 ml) of alcohol. Up to 6 grams of Cannabis can be used, depending on its resources and how concentrated you want the final product to be. Do not use any other type of alcohol besides ethyl alcohol or ethanol (for example, isopropyl alcohol or methyl alcohol), as these chemicals are toxic.
- Cannabis sativa bud, fresh or dried
- Highly resistant to ethanol
- Flavoring (optional)
- Small glass jars with lids
- Brown or green glass dropper bottle
Everclear is a popular source of ethanol because it is too high in alcohol, with 151 Rum also working. Be sure to use quality food ethanol, non-denatured alcohol. Denatured alcohol contains pollutants that make it safe to drink. Low concentrations of alcohol will be ineffective for separating or storing.
Basic Steps to Prepare an Alcohol Cannabis
- Put the cannabis in the bottle.
- Pour alcohol into the bottle, make sure to cover vegetative problems.
- Bottle sealing. Place it in a warm place away from direct sunlight.
- Give the mixture at least a day, but preferably longer than a week to soak. You can shake the bottle from time to time to ensure a good extraction of THC and other cannabinoids.
- Filter the liquid through a coffee filter to remove solids and store the liquid in a dark-colored glass dropper. Avoid using plastics, such as liquids that can seep some unwanted compounds from plastic into alcohol over time. Flavors can be added to improve the taste of alcohol, if desired.
- A typical dose would be 3-5 drops, depending on how strongly you carry the tincture. Start with minimal money and see what works best for you.

Recipes for the preparation of cannabis tincture |
- Dry about 4-5 grams of a Cannabis sativa bud.
- Grind the material to increase surface area (extraction speed).
- Bake marijuana is a last 240 F (set for under 250 F) for 30 minutes. This decarboxylates this problem, improving the extraction of desired compounds while helping to remove unwanted chemicals. Both heat and alcohol can convert the THCA molecules in the plant matter into THC activity.
- Place the marijuana in 2 ounces of alcohol. Make sure it is covered and sealed the container to prevent gas exchange with air.
- Place the containers in a cool, dark place. The longer you allow the alcohol to extract the cannabinoids, the stronger your alcohol will be. You can view the extraction progress as the color of the liquid changes from clear to green. When color stabilizes (up to 2 or 3 hours), filter the liquid using a coffee or cloth filter. Of course, you could consider the alcohol "done" earlier, but you could lose its potency.
- Store the alcohol in a dark glass dropper. While alcohol preserves an alcohol at room temperature, it is good to keep it in the refrigerator to further reduce the chances of mold or fungus growing.
